While studying Architecture and Urbanism at UNESP - Bauru/SP-Brazil (2006-2010), I made research focused on the impact of legislation in the reconfiguration of railway cities in the western part of the state of São Paulo/Brazil (2009), funded by FAPESP. After some years of professional experience in the field of architecture and construction, I focused my studies on railway heritage. Thus, in the ERASMUS Mundus TPTI Master - Technique, Heritage and Industrial Territory (2013-2015), an international consortium between University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), University of Padova (Italy), University of Évora (Portugal) and other universities, I based my research on the valorisation of the railway heritage through the creation of an inventory of Araraquara’s (São Paulo/Brazil) industrial and urban heritage. I was granted a research scholarship from the “Association pour l'Histoire des Chemins de Fer” - AHICF (2014). This research aroused in me a certain interest in the impact of large transport infrastructure in the urban grid. It was this bridge that made me search for new questions and associate two large transport infrastructures, the railway and the port. The opportunity to develop a PhD in Portugal led me to choose new case studies, migrating from Brazilian cases to Iberian ones. My doctoral thesis (History - University of Évora, 2023), inserted in the Doctoral Programme HERITAS - Heritage Studies and funded by “Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia” (2017-2022), focused on the valuation of railway heritage linked to port areas. I sought to develop a comparative, interdisciplinary and international research, and my mobility was made possible by the acquisition of two scholarships for internship/mission abroad, granted by CIDEHUS - Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades. I was a researcher in the group "El ferrocarril y la ciudad en la encrucijada: paisaje urbano y patrimonio industrial en el entorno de las estaciones de la Península Ibérica, 1850-2017", coordinated by the University of Lleida and funded by Fundación BBVA. I also had the opportunity to acquire teaching experiences at the University of Évora in the Heritage and Archaeology courses and to be a part of the Project ObsÉvora - Between Knowledge and Action, aimed at young citizens with an interest in promoting knowledge and new initiatives in their city. This project was financed by the European Solidarity Corps Solidarity Project. Currently, I am part of the board of the International Railway History Association (IRHA) and the “Associação Ibérica de História Ferroviária” (ASIHF). In parallel I am managing an international Network of Studies on Cities, Railways and Ports – Historical Perspectives and Current Realities, making use of the Interknowledge.uevora.pt Platform. This initiative is a collaboration between the University of Évora-CIDEHUS (Portugal), the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid (Spain), the Universidad de Valladolid (Spain) and the Universidad de Sevilla (Spain). I also make part of the TOUR&RAIL, an Erasmus+ Project coordinated by University “Politecnica de Madrid”, in partnership with “Union Internationale des chemins de fer” (France), Université Gustave Eiffel (France), University of Évora (Portugal) and “Universitá Degli Studi di Firenze (Italy). Even working in the Urban Planning and Rehabilitation Division of Évora City Council, I keep improving my academic skills by publishing papers, giving classes in the Geography of Transport and Communications course at the University of Évora and participating in research projetcs.
